Just not the same.

Thanksgiving was today (duh..) and.. It just wasn't the same.
Last year, we went to my grandpa's house, and my Grandma Tina, Natalia, my uncles and aunt-in-law, my great uncle and his girlfriend, great-grandparents and a great-aunt, and my whole family were there. It was great- it truly felt like family. That day was one of the happiest times I can remember from last year. I remember thinking, "Wow. I love this family, it feels so complete and wonderful."
However, awhile before that day, there was a bit of a fight over who would be hosting thanksgiving. My grandpa argued that he wanted "just one last year of tradition" before everyone went their separate ways or something.
And, well, that's what he got. That's what we all got.
Now, Natalia and my great aunt are gone dead.. and on top of that my family moved halfway across the country.
We didn't all eat at the table, and there was really no one here but a different great aunt and my grandma.. Five out of eight of us ate at the table, and it was in silence for the most part..
I miss family. It wasn't the same this year. ..Incomplete.
Happy thanksgiving everyone. Cherish your loved ones. It's really and absolutely hitting home now, seeing just how much has changed in the last year. Be thankful for the people in your life.
